Music
– Head to the WXPN Funky Friday Dance Party 4 to 8 p.m. at Tellus 360, 24 E. King St., Lancaster. York bands Dr. Slowclaw and Aortic Valve will perform at the after-party. [Free; RSVP required]
– Catch Icona Pop, Hot Chelle Rae and American Authors during #Trendfest14 7 p.m. Friday at the Hershey Theatre, 15 E. Caracas Ave., Hershey. [$32.35, $42.35 and $77.85]
– The second annual Charm City Folk and Bluegrass Festival is slated for 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday at Druid Hill Park, 2600 Madison Ave., Baltimore. Headliners include Grammy award winner Jerry Douglas. [$65; VIP admission is sold out]
Deana Martin, daughter of Dean Martin, will perform 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center, 50 N. George St., York. [$30, $36, $42]
– Hear singer/songwriter Ani DiFranco Saturday at Rams Head Live in Baltimore. Doors are at 8 p.m. The music starts at 9 p.m. Eric Himan will open the show. [$40]
– The country/rockabilly band Girls Guns and Glory will perform 8 p.m. Saturday at The Burning Bridge Tavern, 108 Hellman St., Wrightsville. Read a January interview with the group from the Evening Sun.
– The Handel Choir of Baltimore will present Sergei Rachmaninoff’s “All-Night Vigil” 4 p.m. Sunday at Second Presbyterian Church, 4200 Saint Paul St., Baltimore, Md. [$35 for premium seating, $25 for standard seats and $10 for students]
– The York Symphony Chorus and Chamber Singers present their “Joie de Vivre” spring show 3 p.m. Sunday at Union Lutheran Church, 408 W. Market St., York. [$10 to $15]

Comedy
Bill Engvall will bring laughs to American Music Theatre, 2425 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster. Tickets to his shows 3 and 7 p.m. Saturday are nearly sold out. [$47]
– Comedian Kathy Griffin will perform 7 p.m. Sunday at York College, 441 Country Club Road, Spring Garden Township. The York College Campus Activities Board is hosting the show. [$20 for students; $30 for faculty and community members]

Community events
– Don’t miss Opening Day of the 2014 season as the York Revolution take on the Camden Riversharks at 6:30 p.m. tonight at Santander Stadium, 5 Brooks Robinson Way, York. The evening will include a Turkey Hill Magic 8-Ball Giveaway. [Tickets are $8 to $12]
Teen’s Fourth Friday will host a drop-in event 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Central Market, 34 W. Philadelphia St., York. Family First Health is sponsoring this month, with a photo booth, a healthy eats demonstration and a hip-hop dancing class.
– The Race Against Racism untimed 5K adds a “Splash of Color” this year. Humanity Fest, a multi-cultural festival featuring entertainment, crafts, free children’s activities, has also been added to the roster. The fun starts 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the YWCA, 320 E. Market St. York. [Registration is $10 to $25]
– Encourage kids to be healthy during a free community Healthy Kids Day 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Bob Hoffman YMCA, 1705 Palomino Road, Dover. Kids will be able to make crafts and their own first aid kit, tour a fire truck and more.
Toast from our Town will raise funds for the WellSpan VNA Home Services program. It features food from top restaurants and caterers as well as entertainment 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at the Holiday Inn and Conference Center, 2000 Loucks Road, West Manchester Township. [Tickets are limited and cost $50 and $100]
– Thirteen area school musicals will hit the stage during Encore 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Central York High School, 601 Mundis Mill Road, Springettsbury Township. [$12 and are available online at cyhspad.com or by calling 866-967-8167; The show is anticipated to sell out]

Art
– Check out the Wild Women Weavers art exhibit at Weavers, Ink., 208 Hellam St., Wrightsville. The opening reception is 5 to 9 p.m. Friday. The exhibit will be open through May 17.
– YorkArts’ Art in Residence show is slated for 7 p.m. Saturday at BonTon Corporate Offices, 2801 E. Market St., Springettsbury Township. The theme of the event is Black & White Night. [$70 admission includes wine and beer and food catered by Artistic Food]

More
– Clock in to see “9 to 5 The Musical” 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at York Little Theatre, 27 S. Belmont St., Spring Garden Township. The show is based on the ’70s film and runs next weekend, too. [Adult admission is $25, discounts for opening night, students and kids]
Brown’s Orchard & Farm Market in Springfield Township hosts its first family event of the season — Blossom’s Garden Party and Birthday Celebration — 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
– Families are invited to enjoy community day during Gardenfest 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Hershey Gardens, 170 Hotel Road. Local organizations will offer information on various community and garden programs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
– Children 12 and younger are invited to enjoy a Spring Egg Hunt 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Indian Steps Museum, 205 Indian Steps Road, Airville. This Earth Day event will include free games, prizes and an educational seminar about sustainable living.
